Before the field trip even started it's good to have a background on what we are learning about. The 5 "W's" include who, what where when why and the 1 "H" is how.
Who
All the presidents have lived there in the White House. The house of representatives and congress are located here too. Our Founding Fathers build these buildings and were the first to create this area.
What
D.C. stands for District of Columbia. The Capital building, the White House, Congress, executive, judicial branches are located there. Very political location where the president lives and supreme court is located.
Where
Located on the East Coast; on the border of Maryland and Virginia, District of ColumbiaWhen
I have visited there when I was little and have been in the White House. It was really crowded but extremely classy at the same time. Even though I was young it was overall a great memorable experience. Why
Washington D.C. exists to have everything together, to show all the wars we have a long with accomplishments. The heart of our government is located there and keeps our government alive. How
I learned about it because my mom is from the East Coast, took me there to visit to mainly see the white house. My teachers would give me descriptions about it however they were quite vague and I learned more about Washington D.C. by actually traveling there rather than just reading about it during school.Predictions/Expectations
I predict on this trip to visit all the National Monuments in Washington D.C. and see the importance of them. I expect to see the interior of these buildings and to see how the political world uses it. I am looking forward to seeing the president and the first lady in the white house.I would also like to see the upstairs of the white house for example where the president and his kids rooms are. Even though you can't view their rooms on a real trip I doubt you will be able to see their rooms on a virtual trip.
